Dear Parent/Guardian(s) of Thurgood Marshall Elementary School:

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!  I hope all enjoyed their summer break and are ready to begin a terrific learning journey.  I am so excited to be joining the Thurgood Marshall family as the new principal!

Staff have been working hard to ensure we are ready for school opening.  Teachers and other staff are attending training around our new ELA curriculum and other initiatives,  the front office staff have been enrolling new scholars, updating student files and ordering new materials, and our hard-working facilities team have been making sure that the building is clean and prepared.  Our leadership team has been meeting consistently to plan a joyous welcome and to ensure EVERY classroom starts the year with a teacher.

The team is truly planning for a great school year!  As the new principal of Thurgood Marshall, I am committed to a school community that is filled with joy, active engagement and authentic learning.  With all of our work, we are student-centered.  Our mission is to develop a community of learners who are academically proficient, effective communicators, and responsible citizens. With your help, our students will continue to be lifelong learners that embody our new motto:  “Innovate. Educate. Elevate.”  I believe that partnership is the only way we will continue to support OUR children.  My door is always open and I welcome your input.
